(ECNS) -- China's first domestically built large cruise ship, Adora Magic City, has completed 84 journeys, and served over 300 thousand passengers as of Sunday.
It departed from the Shanghai Wusongkou International Cruise Terminal on Sunday, with over 3,000 passengers onboard, on a six-day New Year sightseeing trip.
Parties celebrating the upcoming New Year will be held on the cruise ship, while artists from all over the world will present wonderful performances featuring eastern and western cultural elements.
Data from Shanghai Customs revealed it has carried 600,000 inbound/outbound trips since entering commercial operation at the beginning of 2024, accounting for 40 percent of the country's international cruise market.
Construction of the ship began in 2019, boasting a total length of 323.6 meters and a width of 37.2 meters, it has 2,826 cabins and can accommodate up to 5,246 passengers.
The upper decks of the ship, spanning 16 floors, feature a variety of leisure facilities, including a theater, specialty restaurants, a shopping plaza, an art gallery, and a water park. It is renowned as a mobile "seaborne modern city."
